I hadn’t taken pictures at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse all
season.
When I got there, the sun was just hitting the 1858 structure’s striking red roof. It gave me time to photograph the building from the front, showing off its lovely gardens and beautiful stone-work.
Before long, the setting sun was bathing the whole area in a
dazzling golden glow. The drama
built as the sun sank into the Lake.
As the colors drained from the vibrant sky, only a small reflection
remained in a couple of Lighthouse windows.
I love all these gorgeous golden hour captures at the lighthouse, Karen! Definitely a golden series!
ReplyDeleteI love the Lighthouse. The area around it is very beautiful and peaceful. Nothing better than taking pictures during the golden hour. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark. It was a pretty special golden hour. I was taking pix of the actual sunset when I turned around and saw what was happening with the Lighthouse. It was really lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove these pics, Karen, and the wonderful light you were able to capture. Seems magical!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jackie. It was truly a magical light and I was lucky to be there at just the right time.
