It’s been a challenging winter for photography. Many beautiful landscape scenes I’ve taken pictures of were never fully covered in snow. And I can’t remember a winter where I didn’t see at least one Snowy Owl. Not this year. But I was drawn to these frozen wetlands, mostly from the hint of sepia that reminded me of pictures from a bygone era.
The places look cold under that lowered sky, but I see why the beauty attracted you. No snowy owls (I guess hunting was good enough farther north for them this year), no ice fishing (or not much), no ice boating on Lake Leelanau, and my little no-name creek gurgled all winter long, never frozen over. Strange winter.
ReplyDeleteYes, strange indeed. Just drove by Boardman Lake and it was wide open.
