I cannot believe how variable the weather has been. The images I've posted here are from the snow we had on Thanksgiving Day, even though much of that snow has now disappeared just five days later. The snow from that day was "sticking snow." It was wet and heavy, weighing down the tree boughs and sticking to the sides and crevices of trees. It was perfect for packing snowballs, making snow people, and sculpting snow forts.
It was lovely, wasn't it? The second one is my favorite.Siberia?!
ReplyDeleteYes, fresh snow is almost always lovely. I had to laugh about your Siberia comment. :-) I like that one, but the top and the fifth one down are my favorites. The top one was just out of my driveway and the sun broke through for about 5 minutes. It was diamond-like, but hard to capture that. The fifth one is another favorite. It was one of those driveways along M-22 on the way to Omena. Just a few weeks ago, I'd photographed that particular line of trees in their bright red fall glory. What a contrast!
ReplyDeleteThe top image is my favorite, too, Karen, because of the great light. However, I really enjoyed your whole series of sticking snow shots. I have also enjoyed the reprieve we've had from snow; but it is good to be reminded of its beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jan. I've enjoyed our no-snow reprieve too, although I wish it would go away completely so I could get the leaves up.
