Who needs fudge when Northport has Barb's?! Here the women and children of the downstate
And Emmy, the youngest member of the family, is thoroughly enjoying her napoleon pastry.
But The Miller family wasn't the only group of Fudgies I photographed this week. My friend Barb had both her granddaughters here this week, Erin (left) and Casey (center). They are learning new cameras and wanted some help using them. Casey is also getting ready to be the photographer for her 8th grade school newspaper. They were all excited when I asked them to help with my weekly blog post. I sent them out with this assignment: Show me what Fudgies do when they're in Northport. They did an excellent job giving a pictorial representation of this assignment.
Fudgies shop...
ride bikes...
play at the playground...
walk their dog at the marina...
admire the beautiful gardens in the village...
eat ice cream...
play on the beach...
camp at the Leelanau State Park....
look at the boats in the marina...
visit Grand Traverse Lighthouse....
learn new facts about the area...
enjoy the water...
and play in the water.
But what we saw a lot of was Fudgies taking pictures of family...
and loved ones.
And we even saw photographers taking pictures...
of other photographers. :-)
Thanks everyone for your willingness to help with this blog post. It was great fun! Erin and Casey, you are on your way to being good photographers. Keep on clicking!
Delightful images, Karen. You and your young friends did a great job of showing folks enjoying summertime fun in Northport. Love how colorful these shots are!
ReplyDeleteI'd say these young photographers did a wonderful job too. Think where we might have been if we'd started with a DSLR at age 12!
ReplyDeleteThat was really fun! And great publicity for our sweet little town and its surroundings, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pamela. This was a fun shoot and post to do! Northport is sure a bustling place right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks too for your Facebook plug, Pamela. I really appreciate it. Karen
DeleteWhat a nice post. Helping others learn is what photographers have alway been generous with, I think their hooked. Did you have to show a photo of Barb's Bakery? You know I can't come through Northport without stopping at Barb's... I think it runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark. I know you've helped me improve my photography with your help. It's good to pass it along to young, eager photographers. As for Barb's? IRRESISTIBLE!
