Cherry Blossoms Delight
We waited a long time for cherry blossoms this year, only being a day shy of setting a record for lateness. But it was worth the wait because the blossoms are gorgeous this year. I especially enjoy photographing cherry blossoms because they offer opportunities for so many kinds of photography. White blooms covering a hillside make for a lovely landscape. Delicate cherry blossoms invite close-up photography. Interesting patterns often emerge from the symmetry of the orchards. In this particular set of images, I was as engrossed with the bark patterns in the trees as I was with the blossoms themselves. And nothing ends a day of shooting better than a delicately colored sky at sunset. This photo-shoot had it all.

ReplyDeleteDelightful, indeed, Karen! Loved viewing this beautiful series of cherry blossom shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan. I fear the blossoms have met with an early demise from the heavy rainstorm we had earlier this week. So this might be my only chance at photographing them. Karen
